Savannah and John's ring
John Drake “Bucka” Watson III had the perfect diamonds to ask Savannah Kay Salter to marry him. He just needed them in the right setting.
Savannah’s grandfather had given him her grandmother’s diamond ring. He took the ring to Carreras and spoke with Sally Ashby. She advised him to have the diamonds reset and upgrade the band. He worked with Sally and a custom ring was created for the family heirloom.
The couple met through a colleague of Bucka’s at St. Christopher’s School. Savannah works at St. Catherine’s School, a sister school, and had her upper school history class do a joint project with his colleague’s class. The colleague told him about her about two years ago, and he decided to text her to ask her out on a date. She said yes, and the rest is history.
When he asked for her hand in marriage, he had help. Savannah’s friends took her out to brunch. When she returned, he was waiting outside in the backyard with their dog, Rafa. He had put up multiple post-it notes in the house to lead her out back when she returned home from brunch. When she came outside, he was on one knee. A photographer popped up from behind the fence and captured the moment.
The couple’s wedding is expected to take place in December of 2021.
