Thomas and Ashley
Thomas Rockhold wanted his engagement ring to be truly unique. His fiancée, Ashley, had given him some suggestions — she wanted a particular cut with rose gold — but he still had a lot of discretion. Rather than selecting a ready-made ring out of the case, Thomas worked with the jewelers at Carreras and designed his own engagement ring. The final ring is made with rose gold in a twist design. It includes special amethysts on the side and a pear-shaped diamond.
He chose the 4th of July to ask Ashley for her hand in marriage. Tommy told Ashley that he was headed out of town for the weekend white he secretly worked with several of her friends to get her to the rooftop garden at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts. The goal was to have Independence Day fireworks as the backdrop, but the execution was a little rocky. Ashley was upset that he was headed out of town that weekend, and the weather did not cooperate. It was raining and several of the firework shows in town were canceled. But by “grace of God, the skies parted and the fireworks were set off.” After the fireworks started, Thomas approached and surprised Ashley. She was excited to see him. Once she calmed down, he took her off to a secluded area and asked her to marry him. And, of course, she said yes.
